Kevin (c. 498-618 AD) was an Irish abbot and hermit saint who founded the monastery at Glendalough in County Wicklow. Known for his asceticism and love of nature.
Significance
Kevin represents the eremitical tradition in Irish monasticism. Glendalough became one of Ireland's most important monastic cities.
