John O’Donovan writing in the 1830s recorded the name of a well – Tober Padraig – in the townland of Lughawnagh (Flanagan 1929, 132), and Faughnan (1943) says it is on the land of Hugh Mc Cordick, but even then it was not remembered beyond its name. Com
