Augustinian Canons Regular founded after 1140; probably Augustinian Canons Regular — Arroasian probably adopted 1144 at the instance of St Malachy; burned 1108 by Conor O’Melaghlin; destroyed before 1186; restored/rebuilt by de Lacy (probably Hugh de Lacy) before 1188-91; burnt 1203; dissolved 1539; granted to Sir Anthony Leger, the king’s deputy, 1542; converted into a Protestant school 18th century; (NM)
